Description
Bio-1s is a synthetic peptide analog built on a native incretin-family peptide backbone, modified with two amino-acid substitutions and a fatty-acid chain linked through a spacer to a lysine residue. The fatty-acid modification increases the peptide's affinity for circulating albumin, the design feature researchers use to extend a peptide's residence time in circulation — the way a courier who hitches a ride on a slower, longer-traveling vehicle covers more ground before running out of fuel. Bio-1s is studied for its receptor-binding characteristics and structural engagement with its target cell-surface receptor.
