SNAP-8 is the common research name for acetyl octapeptide-3, a synthetic eight-residue peptide whose sequence is modeled on the N-terminal region of the synaptosomal-associated protein SNAP-25. SNAP-25 is one of the SNARE-family proteins involved in vesicle docking and neurotransmitter release at nerve terminals. Where Argireline (acetyl hexapeptide-8) is the six-residue analog of the same SNAP-25 region, SNAP-8 extends that sequence to eight residues. Sold as lyophilized powder, research-grade purity.
Avcil et al. (2020) characterized acetyl octapeptide-3 as a component of a hyaluronic-acid microneedle patch formulation, examining skin surface metrics including hydration, density, and wrinkle-depth measurements in a monocentric research study. Shin et al. (2024) studied acetyl octapeptide-3 in a similar dissolving microneedle patch formulation, evaluating skin puncture behavior and dermatology-research surface metrics over a 28-day study window. Lungu et al.
