IGF-1 LR3 — a synthetic analog of insulin-like growth factor 1, engineered with an N-terminal extension and an arginine substitution studied for altered binding-protein affinity relative to native IGF-1. Investigated across rodent and cell-culture research models, including a 2025 study of intranasal LR3-IGF-1 in 5XFAD mice (Engel et al., J Alzheimers Dis — PMID 39610283). Lyophilized powder, research-grade. For Research Use Only. Not for human consumption.
For laboratory research use only · Not for human or veterinary use.
Description
IGF-1 LR3 (Long R3 IGF-1) is a synthetic analog of human insulin-like growth factor 1, modified with a 13-amino-acid N-terminal extension and an arginine substitution at position 3. These modifications are studied for their effect on binding-protein affinity relative to native IGF-1, a property researchers have used across cell-culture and rodent models to extend the analog's presence in circulation for experimental purposes. Independent laboratories have applied LR3-IGF-1 across a range of research contexts, from neuroscience to lactation physiology to analytical chemistry.
Engel et al., 2025 (Journal of Alzheimer's Disease) examined intranasal LR3-IGF-1 in 5XFAD mice, evaluating amyloid plaque remodeling and cognitive outcomes over a seven-month treatment period. Hadsell et al., 2008 (Journal of Endocrinology) studied LR3-IGF-1 administration in lactating mice, examining mammary gland signaling and gene expression alongside growth hormone and prolactin. Mongongu et al., 2021 (Drug Testing and Analysis) developed a mass-spectrometry method for detecting LongR3-IGF-1 and related analogs, validating detection windows in a rat administration model.
For Research Use Only. Not for human consumption.

Shipping & Storage
Shipping
Orders ship within 24 hours. Delivered via USPS Priority or standard FedEx unless expedited shipping is selected at checkout. Tracking is emailed on dispatch and mirrored in your account.
In-transit handling
Lyophilized vials are shelf-stable and ship at ambient temperature. Storage in our warehouse is cooled; shipment does not require refrigeration.
Long-term storage
Lyophilized vials are shelf-stable at ambient temperature; refrigeration (2–8°C) extends shelf life. Refer to the batch-specific Certificate of Analysis for material-specific storage guidance. Once reconstituted, follow the storage instructions on the batch COA. Not for human or animal consumption.
Returns
Because these are research-grade biologics, we cannot accept returns on opened vials. Damaged-in-transit shipments are replaced at no cost within 7 days of delivery.
