pep-HMG-75iu-us
HMG (human menopausal gonadotropin, or menotropin) is a purified urinary glycoprotein preparation combining FSH activity with LH-type activity, the latter attributable in part to co-purified HCG content. Filicori et al. (Human Reproduction, 2002; PMID 12151429) examined this combined activity in a randomized study of follicular development. For Research Use Only. Not for human consumption.
For laboratory research use only · Not for human or veterinary use.
Description
Human menopausal gonadotropin (HMG), also referred to in the literature as menotropin, is a glycoprotein hormone preparation purified from postmenopausal urine, containing follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) activity together with luteinizing-hormone-type activity attributable in part to co-purified human chorionic gonadotropin (HCG). The way a single cable can carry two separate signals at once, HMG preparations are described in the literature as delivering combined FSH and LH-type signaling through one gonadotropin extract, distinguishing them from single-hormone recombinant preparations.
Lunenfeld (Human Reproduction Update, 2004; PMID 15388674) reviewed the century-long development of gonadotrophin extraction and purification methods, tracing HMG's origins in pituitary, placental, and urinary hormone preparations investigated since the 1930s. Filicori et al. (Human Reproduction, 2002; PMID 12151429) examined how varying levels of LH-type activity within HMG preparations related to follicular development and steroid hormone concentrations in a randomized study of women undergoing controlled ovarian stimulation, finding that co-purified HCG content contributed materially to overall LH-type activity measured. Bordewijk et al. (Human Reproduction Open, 2019; PMID 31206036) conducted a systematic review and meta-analysis comparing highly purified HMG, highly purified FSH, and recombinant FSH preparations across published randomized controlled trials, reporting comparable total gonadotrophin requirements across preparation types.

Shipping & Storage
Shipping
Orders ship within 24 hours. Delivered via USPS Priority or standard FedEx unless expedited shipping is selected at checkout. Tracking is emailed on dispatch and mirrored in your account.
In-transit handling
Lyophilized vials are shelf-stable and ship at ambient temperature. Storage in our warehouse is cooled; shipment does not require refrigeration.
Long-term storage
Lyophilized vials are shelf-stable at ambient temperature; refrigeration (2–8°C) extends shelf life. Refer to the batch-specific Certificate of Analysis for material-specific storage guidance. Once reconstituted, follow the storage instructions on the batch COA. Not for human or animal consumption.
Returns
Because these are research-grade biologics, we cannot accept returns on opened vials. Damaged-in-transit shipments are replaced at no cost within 7 days of delivery.
