Epitalon (Epithalon) is a synthetic tetrapeptide (Ala-Glu-Asp-Gly) modeled on a component of the pineal gland's polypeptide complex, first identified by Khavinson et al. (2017, Bulletin of Experimental Biology and Medicine). Al-Dulaimi et al. (2025, Biogerontology) documented concentration-dependent telomere length extension and telomerase upregulation in exposed human cell lines. For Research Use Only. Not for human consumption.
For laboratory research use only · Not for human or veterinary use.
Description
Epitalon (also known as Epithalon) is a synthetic tetrapeptide with the sequence Ala-Glu-Asp-Gly (AEDG), developed by researchers at the Saint Petersburg Institute of Bioregulation and Gerontology as a synthetic analog of a naturally occurring component of the pineal gland's polypeptide complex. Telomeres cap the ends of chromosomes much as a plastic aglet caps the end of a shoelace; Epitalon has been examined in laboratory studies for its documented interaction with telomerase, the enzyme responsible for maintaining those caps.
Al-Dulaimi et al. (2025, Biogerontology) exposed human breast cell lines and normal epithelial and fibroblast cells to Epitalon and documented concentration-dependent telomere length extension through hTERT mRNA and telomerase enzyme upregulation, with ALT (Alternative Lengthening of Telomeres) activation specific to the cancer cell lines used in the study. Khavinson et al. (2020, Molecules) examined AEDG peptide's documented relationship to neurogenic differentiation gene expression in human gingival mesenchymal stem cells, proposing histone binding as one possible epigenetic mechanism. An earlier study by Khavinson et al. (2017, Bulletin of Experimental Biology and Medicine) identified the AEDG peptide sequence within the pineal gland's polypeptide complex using mass spectrometry and HPLC. Epitalon appears on FDA's Category 2 bulk drug substance safety list, reflecting the absence of identified human safety data for this compound.

Specifications
Shipping & Storage
Shipping
Orders ship within 24 hours. Delivered via USPS Priority or standard FedEx unless expedited shipping is selected at checkout. Tracking is emailed on dispatch and mirrored in your account.
In-transit handling
Lyophilized vials are shelf-stable and ship at ambient temperature. Storage in our warehouse is cooled; shipment does not require refrigeration.
Long-term storage
Lyophilized vials are shelf-stable at ambient temperature; refrigeration (2–8°C) extends shelf life. Refer to the batch-specific Certificate of Analysis for material-specific storage guidance. Once reconstituted, follow the storage instructions on the batch COA. Not for human or animal consumption.
Returns
Because these are research-grade biologics, we cannot accept returns on opened vials. Damaged-in-transit shipments are replaced at no cost within 7 days of delivery.
